Ring neck duck
The beautiful Ring neck duck is not releasable due to an eye injury that caused blindness in one eye. Diane our veterinarian found an aquarium in eastern Virginia for placement. We transferred him today to the Wildlife Center of VA for an x ray before he proceeds to his final home. He was found in Craig County late one evening during a heavy downpour. The rescuer saw him in the road and managed to straddle her car over him without hitting the duck. She turned her car around as another car just missed him. Thank you Karen for rescuing this bird.

Their baby “pup” at birth can weigh 25% of the mother. That is big!
