Cedar Waxwing

Our first Cedar Waxwing of the season. Waxwings are one of the few birds that can survive for months on a diet of fruit. Sometimes they ingest overly ripened fruit causing intoxication or even death.
Their name came from a waxy substance sometimes found on the tip of their secondary feathers.
