Sandhill Crane

Our fabulous vet, Dr. Diane, rodeoing a Sandhill Crane by herself! She actually has to straddle the crane to keep the bird from injuring itself. That is impressive! The bird was captured in Christiansburg today after concerned locals noticed it was not flying off when approached. Sandhill Cranes are rarely spotted in our region since this is not their habitat or migratory path. Thanks to Rudi Woykowski, Don and Kim Hall for their rescue.
