Song Sparrow

The Song Sparrow rescued by a homeless man in downtown Roanoke was released. The man found the bird flopping on a sidewalk. Gathering the injured sparrow up, he walked around town asking strangers to borrow their phone in an attempt to find help for the bird. A lady contacted me and stated she was more worried about the man’s condition, but felt the need to help him with the bird. I never got the man’s name, and he will never know his good deed had a wonderful ending; or I should say a new beginning for the bird.
