woodchuck update
Update on the patient that was rescued last night by a young girl (12).
After examination, Dr. Diane gave the woodchuck medication and fluids. We think the groundhog was attacked by a dog. While trying to escape, her left front paw became wedged under a rock. Thanks to the young lady for pulling her shivering body from the creek. The patient’s back feet are hairless from her futile attempts to free herself. We do not know how long she was trapped. The patient is very weak and bruised but her appetite is great and she feasted on greens. The staff is hoping her condition improves.
Prognosis is still guarded.
