Kestrel release
Fourth American Kestrel released in Roanoke today. In June, and spanning over a week, these four Kestrels tumbled down to the sidewalk. The Kestrels were too young to take flight. Their nest was located at a height making renesting impossible. One by one they were brought in to SWVAWC. We transferred them to the Wildlife Center of VA where they spent their summer learning to fly and capture prey. We appreciate the wonderful assistance the Wildlife Center of Virginia offers us when needed.
