Thankfully, the doves are now weaned and don’t require gavage feeds. The staff dreads feeding baby doves. It is always a concern by my caring crew that the crop could be perforated during this process 4-8 times each day. Tubing requires inserting a 3-5 inch tube down in the crop delivering food. This process is done until the fledge is able to peck seed.
