Thursday, a Common Night Hawk was rescued by a jogger from attacking crows. We believe the night hawk was weak and underweight from a previous injury, then the crows took advantage of his predicament.
The left foot has a mysterious puncture wound. We cannot determine how the injury was sustained. Embedded in the small pad was a thin string similar to floss about 2 inches long. Our veterinarian removed the foreign body. We hope the patient will recover.
